~What Else Should I Be?~
Don't [Take Off My] Mask
Don't [Take Off My] Mask
Prairie winds were something alien to him still...
Lona was like that in general it would seem. Between the low hum of the worn pick-up truck and the sight of the rolling wheat fields, it all was a different world. The busy city streets of Celadon was absent, but not far from mind. Even the polluted pool of water that was infested with Grimer could have been a welcoming sight even if unsanitary. All of it was a thought well remembered compared to now: the outskirts of Wheatly that was filled with farm hands and country accents.
He stuck out like a sore thumb even though he had one that was green. He could not afford the beat-up high tail trucks that everyone drove around the dusty roads going to and from the grassland. The violet haired boy's expenses would forbid it. So there was his head peeking out of a outdated Kei Truck model. Its size a dwarf to the other farmers if not a laugh as he had to use what he could afford. Following far behind was the distant farm house and barn that was in the distant backdrop that was so worn that the lumber could be seen rotting.
"As usual," a tired breath escaping the young boy's lips, "We are given what we can work with in life."
Orchid had no one but himself to blame. Instead of wasting time idling in his guilt about his situation, it was done while parking the truck on side of the dusty road. Opening the door, his skimpy little body would leap from within as his feet would plant into the dirt with ankle high boots that had crept a quarter up to his legs with his short form. The beaming sun had prompted him to place his hat on his head to cover his cascading violet hair. The brim touched slightly as the arrangement of false flowers shading his head as he would walk. The winds rolled across the tall wheat almost reminiscent of the tall grass of Kanto's fields.
"Close enough." A weak smile chasing melancholic thoughts.
He wasted no time walking into the field, boots rustling some of the wheat aside. The Farmers had walked into these tall grasslands in certain places looking for Pokemon for their farms. Orchid knew that he would have to blend in to the simple life if he were to make sure to have any chance at peace...however long that may last. His delicate little hands would sweep out, pushing some of the wheat aside as he was greeted by-
BUMP!!!!
"Bounsweet!" crystal blue orbs landing on the small figure at his ankle. The rounded fruit Pokemon rubbing against his ankle. "Please, be calm! I am not going anywhere afar! Besides, if Buneary was to see you out of your Pokeba-"
BUMP!!!
"When did you?!" Orchid would twist to see what he thought should have been obvious even if his breathed a breath of shock. If Bounsweet was hugging one ankle, the rabbit Pokemon was on another. It was typical of them as a timeless feud. "Honestly!" Pressing his lips he would shake his head. His voice could not be anymore petite even if he tried to sound authoritative of the two Pokemon hugging his ankles affectionately one moment...and giving nasty glares next.
....well...at least Buneary was.
"This rivalry thing is silly!" Orchid spat, "Buneary, you are not being replaced. Bounsweet just...she just is very friendly! She came along by choice and it is not like she is some kind of parasite."
He said this aloud, but how Orchid moved his ankle said otherwise. The small fruit Pokemon would remain nuzzling his leg moving along in a rhythmic manner, quick to touch the violet haired boy in one way or another. She had always been like that since the boy touched down on Lona from the ship. She was an odd Pokemon, one alien to him in Kanto region, just as Buneary. The little rabbit was popular around the docks, friendly to new visitors and overpopulating farm areas.
It was how he heard the small town's name of "Wheatly." Perfect for business, keeping a low profile, and starting over.
"You two, please, behave!" The young boy took one step carefully breaking away from Buneary's embrace and gaining the slightest of inch away from Bounsweet's bombarding affection. "We need to look for some Pokemon to help on the farm, just like the rest of the farmers around here! It is best not to walk around like this because wild Pokemon-"
RUSTLE!!!
"They get-" He paused...noticing the sound at the last minute.
RUSTLE!!!
"They get-" He was sure of it now...his tone dropping to one that was tired.
RUSTLE!!!
"...jealous."
