[attr="class","hopelovetitle"]Battling Pokémon [attr="class","hopelovetop"] Battling pokémon is written out in paragraph format, just as everything else is. In the event of a player pokémon versus a wild pokémon, the actions of the wild pokémon are totally at the discretion of the player. You can also improve and improvise such attacks, put in a little parkour, or maybe even use the environment around as part of it. The only limit is your creativity.[break][break] Battling two pokémon which belong to different players requires a bit of restraint. You may use one, or two attacks per action. Following that, you must allow the opponent to respond. Dodging attacks should be used sparingly, and the success or failure of any such dodge will be dependent on the situation at hand (such as the speed of the pokémon species, its level, or any environmental factors).[break][break] For the sake of objectivity, battles between trainers must use this calculator for reference. Use default IV's, EV's, and nature. Moderators will only confirm a pokémon to be defeated if its health would be reduced to 0 according to the calculator.[break][break] Success of attack dodge depends on pokémon speed, evasiveness, and attack accuracy. Pokémon at base evasiveness will almost always fail to dodge most attacks.[break][break] In regards to such things as poison, burn, or any other such DOT effect, each action from one player followed by an action from another player will be treated as one turn. If a battle involves more than two participants, then a "turn" passes each full rotation of responses.[break][break] In the event of an uncertainty, you may post a request for a battle judge in the appropriate moderator summon thread. Moderators will subjectively determine the appropriate results.[break][break] Following the conclusion of a battle, a moderator must be summoned to confirm experience gain.[break][break] Pokémon health points reset at the beginning of each thread.[break][break] Pokémon may sustain damage from sources other than pokémon attacks, as roleplay scenarios may dictate. In any such case, a moderator must be summoned to determine the hit point loss.[break][break] [attr="class","hopelovetitle"]Capturing Pokémon [attr="class","hopelovetop"] The main way to obtain pokémon is by catching wild pokémon with pokéballs. You must have the appropriate item in your inventory in order to attempt to catch a pokémon. In order to request a wild pokémon spawn, post a request with a link to the roleplay thread in the appropriate mod summon thread. Likewise, confirming a capture of a pokémon must be done by a moderator, and requires a summon request.[break][break] Encountering pokémon is random. Each roleplay area has its own set of possible pokémon. Area information lists the pokémon that appear in that area. Please note that the pokémon spawns are not only limited to the pokémon listed, but are also extended to their respective evolutions. Terrestrial pokémon spawn in land-based settings, and aquatic pokémon spawn in water based settings. Moderators will determine the setting based on the writing.[break][break] All wild pokémon spawns and all attempted captures require moderator activity. Once a wild pokémon has been spawned, it is controlled by the player who submitted the moderator request until the battle is concluded. Fainted pokémon may still be captured.[break][break] [attr="class","hopeloveleft"]Poké ball // Effective levels 1-30 [attr="class","hopeloveleft"]Great ball // Effective levels 1-50 [attr="class","hopeloveleft"]Ultra ball // Effective levels 1-80 [attr="class","hopelovetitle"]Trading Pokémon [attr="class","hopelovetop"] You may trade Pokémon with other trainers at will. If you choose to do so, you must each update your PC's accordingly. There is no precedent for forcing a player to take back a trade.[break][break] |
